# Managing Vessels

# Adding a new vessel

  1. Navigate to Casks or Kegs table view
  2. Click "New Cask" or "New Keg"
  3. Enter required information:
    • Vessel number (the next available number is automatically generated but can be changed)
    • Source/supplier
    • Acquisition date

# Shortcut: add a new vessel by copying an existing vessel

  1. Navigate to Casks or Kegs table view
  2. Click the three dots menu on the existing vessel
  3. Select "Copy to New Vessel"
  4. This will create and save a new, empty vessel with the next available number, and with the same vessel type, source, and acquisition date as the original vessel.
  1. Navigate to Casks or Kegs table view
  2. Click the three dots menu on the vessel
  3. Select "Print Label"
  4. This will generate a QR code label for the vessel. You can print this label or save it as a PDF and print later.

# Filling a vessel

  1. Open the batch record for the beer that is to be filled
  2. Navigate to cask or keg logs section
  3. Click "ADD CASKS" or "ADD KEGS"
  4. Select one or more vessels, or click the Scan QR Code button to scan a vessel's QR code label
  5. At the time of filling, you can add measurements within this screen and later view these in the vessel record.
  6. At the time of filling, you can add additions within this screen. If the addition is a sugar source, this will automatically place the vessel into the Conditioning status

Note: Only vessels in "CLEAN" status are available for filling.

# Multiple fills from the same batch into the same vessel

It is possible to re-fill a vessel from the same batch. When you save a batch with multiple vessel logs that use a single vessel more than once, keep these factors in mind:

  1. If a vessel has already been emptied and cleaned, this means the use is 'complete'. Completed vessel uses can not be updated from batch packaging logs.
  2. If there are 2 or more logs that add the same vessel, the system will create a separate use and re-fill the vessel only if the fill date of the next fill is 8 or more days following the prior fill date.

# Scan QR Code for actions

  1. Scan a vessel's QR code label to open the vessel record
  2. Choose a Quick Action:
    • Change location
    • Change status (mark as cleaned, etc)
